Jorge Alberto Valladares lives in Central Florida where he works with students as a professor of psychology, and in counseling and psychotherapy with clients.

Education and Training

Professor Valladares holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College, a Master of Science in General Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Behavior from Rollins College, and an Associate in Arts degree from Valencia College. He is a registered mental health counselor intern in the state of Florida and is certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Professor of Psychology

Mr. Valladares is a full-time, tenure-track professor of psychology and has taught a variety of courses including General Psychology (PSY 2012), Developmental Psychology (DEP 2004), Human Sexuality (SOP 2772) and Abnormal Psychology (CLP 2140). Professor Valladares utilizes a variety of strategies to activate students in an engaging learning process.

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and National Certified Counselor

Jorge works with clients as a psychotherapist and is registered with the State of Florida as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. He is also certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors. Jorge’s graduate fieldwork included direct client-contact in hospital and residential psychiatric settings; activism and advocacy in community settings; and mental health counseling in a college counseling clinic. Jorge currently works as a therapist at The Meaningful Life Center, and in private practice with Aria Counseling, LLC.
